GOLD AND SILVER GAIN ABOUT 1% (11-22)

The Metals:

Gold saw only modest gains in Asia and London, but it then climbed steadily higher in New York and ended near its late session high of $1294.50 with a gain of 0.91%. Silver rose to as high as $17.162 and ended with a gain of 1.12%.

Euro gold rose to about €1093, platinum gained $7 to $937, and copper climbed a penny to about $3.14.

Gold and silver equities rose over 1% by midday and remained near that level into the close.

GOLD, SILVER SEE SOLID RALLIES ON SAFE-HAVEN DEMAND

(Kitco News) - Gold and silver prices were ending the U.S. day session with good gains Monday. The metals were supported by a combination of safe-haven demand and surging crude oil prices that have hit a two-year high. December Comex gold was last up $13.30 an ounce at $1,282.50. December Comex silver was up $0.401 at $17.235 an ounce.
